\\ Suva, Fiji – Saturday, 9 November 2024
One of the largest business councils in Fiji voted for their new Executive Committee at their Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Australian High Commission on Tuesday this week.
With record membership numbers this year, the 155-member Council continues their legacy of championing the voice of business, enabling key investments and strengthening bilateral partnerships between Fiji and Australia by electing esteemed and hardworking business and industry leaders to carry on the mission of the Council.
President Himen Chandra, Vice President Christine Lyons, Vice President Saud Minam, and Treasurer Bruce Sutton lead the newly-elected Executive Committee. The other Committee members are Immediate Past President Vera Chute, Mark Halabe, Lisa Apted, Glenis Yee, Rabih Yazbek, Shane Smith, Ajay Raniga, and Tim Joyce.
Close to 35 members attended the AGM and it was an uncontested election for the new Executive Committee. President Himen Chandra thanked former President Vera Chute who was elected in 2022 and served two terms. She was steadfast in her role as she took the Council through critical and unprecedented times of massive transitions and change.
“With two very strong Vice Presidents at my side together with the rest of the Executive Committee and the support of our members, I am confident that we can lead the Council forward and continue the momentum that we are on. We will continue the significant role of providing a key platform for people, opportunities and growth, and we can build on FABC’s past achievements and harness our combined skills as we work with Fiji and Australia for our mutually shared goals,” says FABC’s new President Himen Chandra.
