\\ Suva, Fiji – 16 July 2026
Business leaders are moving quickly to secure their seats at the 2026 Fiji Australia Business Council (FABC) and Australia Fiji Business Council (AFBC) Joint Business Forum, with registrations already exceeding 50% of the event’s attendance target within just one week of opening.
The strong early response reflects growing interest in what is shaping up to be one of the most important Fiji-Australia business events of the year.
Under the theme “Strategy for a Shifting Landscape” the Forum will bring together leading voices from government, business, finance, trade and development to examine the major economic, geopolitical and industry trends reshaping the Fiji-Australia business corridor and the wider Pacific region.
In an increasingly complex and fast-moving business environment, the value of bringing decision-makers together has never been greater. Forums such as this provide a unique platform to exchange ideas, build strategic partnerships and identify opportunities that might otherwise be missed.

L-R: Vishal Kishor (Vision Commercial), Glenis Yee (FABC Board Executive), Saud Minam (FABC Vice President), Himen Chandra (FABC President), Shane Smith (CEO, Westpac Fiji), Vera Chute (CEO, Value City), and Ella Mawson (Swire Shipping).
Three out of eight Conversations Set to Define the Forum
- The Vuvale Union: A New Era for Fiji-Australia Business
Fresh from the landmark announcement of the Fiji-Australia Vuvale Union, senior government representatives will provide businesses with a first-hand look at how deeper cooperation could transform trade, investment, workforce mobility and private sector opportunities. As both countries strengthen economic ties, this session is expected to be one of the most anticipated discussions of the Forum.
- Navigating Economic Uncertainty: Where Is Growth Coming From Next?
At a time of global volatility, inflation pressures and shifting market conditions, some of the region’s most influential economic leaders, including the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji, Westpac Australia’s Senior Economist and senior finance sector executives, will tackle the question every business is asking: how do we position for growth in an increasingly uncertain world?
- Brisbane 2032: Unlocking a Decade of Opportunity
The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games represent one of the largest economic opportunities for the region in a generation. Delegates will explore how Fiji can position itself to benefit from procurement, tourism, workforce participation, logistics, major events and investment opportunities over the coming decade.
FABC President Himen Chandra said the rapid uptake in registrations demonstrates that businesses are actively looking ahead and preparing for change.
“The incredible response within the first week tells us that businesses recognise that the operating environment is changing rapidly. They want to understand where the opportunities are, how policy developments will affect them, and what strategies they need to remain competitive.”
“This Forum is about more than discussion. It is about bringing together the people who are shaping the future of trade, investment and economic cooperation between Fiji and Australia. The conversations taking place here will help businesses make better decisions for the decade ahead.”
With a distinguished lineup of ministers, senior government officials, economists, CEOs and industry experts expected to participate, organisers anticipate registrations will continue to accelerate in the lead-up to the event.
The question is not whether change is coming, but who will be in the room when it happens?
