On Tuesday, 12 January 2021, the Council presented a cheque donation of $20,000 to the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation at the KPMG Boardroom, Suva. The donation is to help assist families affected during COVID-19 and the recent Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
The Minister of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Mereseini Vuniwaqa, received the Council’s donation on behalf of the Ministry. In accepting the donation, Minister Vuniwaqa said that the contribution was timely as it would assist children who were going back to school.
Minister Vuniwaqa pointed out that the ministry which she serves in serves the majority of the marginalized. She also thanked the Australian Government for its efforts in addressing the needs of her Ministry.
